Gummy Smile

Anti-wrinkle injections with Botulinum toxin Type A are used. When injected using a fine needle into the target muscles, it works by temporarily blocking the nerve signal and as a result weakens the muscle action. This muscle weakening helps to lower the muscles on smiling thus reducing the gums being visible.

Due to Dr Ricky’s light-handed technique and use of a very fine needle discomfort should be minimal albeit a minor stinging sensation.

There is normally no downtime and you can return to work and carry out normal activities straight away. Dr Ricky will explain the relevant aftercare post the procedure to ensure a sustained excellent outcome.

Normally most people start to notice a result after 5 days with a near full result by 14 days. However Botulinum toxin can take up to 30 days to fully work.

Typically results can last from 3-4 months for some people this can be longer.
