Smoker's Lines

Smoker’s lines are the vertical lines and wrinkles that are present above the upper lip. They are often associated with smoking and can develop as we age also. The appearance of them can make somebody look older and fatigued therefore affecting one’s confidence. At Cosmedica Skin we use a premium Hyaluronic acid based filler which will provide an excellent natural looking aesthetic outcome. We can also use anti-wrinkle injections with Botulinum toxin Type A. When injected using a fine needle into the target muscle, it works by temporarily blocking the nerve signal and as a result weakens the muscle action. This muscle weakening helps to smooth out these lines. During the consultation Dr Ricky will discuss the most appropriate treatment for you.

The premium Hyaluronic acid based filler we use also contains a local anaesthetic which will minimise discomfort during the treatment.

There is normally no downtime and you can return to work and carry out normal activities straight away. Dr Ricky will explain the relevant aftercare post the procedure to ensure a sustained excellent outcome. Sometimes post dermal filler treatment there can be some mild swelling/bruising that can occur which will settle down in a few days.

The results are immediate but the end result is seen after 2 weeks once the post treatment swelling has settled down.

Given we use a premium based Hyaluronic acid based filler results can last from 6-12 months for some people this may be longer. If anti-wrinkle injections are used then the results can last from 3-4 months and maybe longer in some people.
